11.11 Sale Prep: A One-Week AI Plan

It's early November, and in a few days a big slice of the online world will go shopping for one reason: the date reads 11.11. You don't need a warehouse or a marketing team to take part. You need one clear offer and a week of small, focused tasks.

Below is a seven-day plan for a small online store, one task a day, with prompts you can paste into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Start on November 4 and you launch on the 11th.

11.11 sale prep: a one-week AI plan for small online stores, one task per day from Day 1 to Day 7

A quick note: this is a planning guide built from public reporting and common online-store practice. We didn't run an 11.11 sale for this article, so treat the steps as a checklist to adapt, not a promise of results.

Why 11.11 is worth a small sale

Singles' Day started in China as an informal day for people without a partner and grew into one of the biggest online shopping days in the world. In China it's also called "Double 11".

The exact size is harder to pin down than it used to be. Alibaba last published a Singles' Day total for 2021 and has kept the number private since 2022. Data provider Syntun estimated 2024 sales across platforms at 1.44 trillion yuan, about $202 billion, and in 2025 many platforms started their promotions in the first half of October.

Sources: Statista (November 14, 2022) and The Star, citing Reuters (November 12, 2025).

For a small store outside China, the point isn't to compete with those numbers. It's that 11.11 gives you a natural, date-based reason to run a short sale a couple of weeks before the Black Friday rush, and a low-pressure rehearsal for it.

Your 7-day 11.11 plan: pick one offer, refresh listings, write the emails, plan social posts, prep a chat FAQ, test checkout, launch and watch

Day 1: pick one offer and one goal

Decide one thing you're promoting and one number you'll watch (orders, revenue or new subscribers). A single offer, like a discount on your bestseller or a free gift over a set amount, is easier to explain in every email, post and chat reply. Write down the exact dates and when the offer ends, with the time zone.

I run a small online store selling [products] to [customers]. Suggest 5 simple offers for an 11.11 sale that protect my margin (I can give at most [x]% off). For each one: a one-line description, who it's best for, and one risk.

Day 2: refresh your top listings

Pick your 3 to 5 best sellers, not the whole catalog. Ask AI for clearer titles and descriptions, then check every fact yourself: sizes, materials, shipping times. AI is good at making copy shorter and clearer, but it can also invent details.

Rewrite this product description for an 11.11 sale page. Keep every fact exactly as written and don't add features. Give me a title under 60 characters, 3 short benefit bullets and a 2-sentence description. Facts: [paste the current description and specs].

Day 3: write three emails

Three short emails cover most of it: a teaser a day or two before, a launch email on the morning of the 11th and a last call that evening. If you already run a welcome email sequence, check that new subscribers won't get two emails from you on the same day.

Write 3 short emails for my 11.11 sale: teaser, launch and last call. Offer: [offer]. Ends: [date, time, time zone]. Under 120 words each, one link each, plain words, no fake urgency. Give me 2 subject lines per email.

Day 4: plan 3 to 5 social posts

Give each post one message: what's on sale, one product in the spotlight, or when it ends. Our guide to AI tools for social media covers caption and design helpers if you want to speed this up.

Turn this offer into 4 short Instagram captions: announcement, product spotlight, behind the scenes and last day. Under 60 words each, one call to action, no more than 3 hashtags. Offer: [offer].

Day 5: get ready for customer questions

Sales bring the same questions over and over: shipping deadlines, returns, sizes, discount codes. Write the answers once and reuse them everywhere: an FAQ block on the sale page, saved replies in your inbox or a chat tool. If you're thinking about a website chatbot, our website chatbot comparison looks at free plans and how AI replies are charged.

List the 10 questions customers are most likely to ask during a one-day online sale for [products]. Answer each in 1 or 2 sentences using only these policies: [shipping, returns, sizes, payment]. Mark any question my policies don't answer.

Day 6: test everything like a customer

  • Place a test order with the discount code, on your phone.

  • Check that the confirmation email and receipt show the right price.

  • Make sure sold-out items can't be bought.

  • Check that any automation still fires, like order alerts or a sales spreadsheet. New to automation? Our first Make automation guide builds a simple form-to-spreadsheet alert you can adapt.

Day 7, November 11: launch and watch

Send the launch email in the morning in your customers' time zone, post your first update and keep an eye on messages. Answer fast; a quick, clear reply often matters more than a perfect one. At the end of the day, write down three things: what sold, which message got clicks and which question came up most. That's your starting point for Black Friday.

What to skip

  • Discounting everything. One clear offer is easier to explain and protects your margin.

  • AI copy you didn't check. A wrong size or shipping date costs more than the time AI saved.

  • Fake urgency. Countdown timers that reset and "was" prices that never existed erode trust, and misleading price claims can break consumer rules in many places.

  • Launching without a test. A broken discount code on sale day is the most expensive bug a small store can have.

The bottom line

Worth it if you sell online and want a low-pressure rehearsal before Black Friday: one offer, three emails, a few posts and ready answers, in short daily tasks. Skip it if your customers don't shop online sales or you can't ship in time; a well-run Black Friday will matter more. Want more ready-to-use prompts?
