7 Free AI Tools for Small Online Stores

The week before a sale is when a small store feels smallest: listings to fix, graphics to make, questions piling up in the inbox. The good news is that most of the AI help you need has a free plan. The catch is that every free plan has a limit, and it's better to know it before sale day.

Here are seven free tools, one for each job, with what the free plan includes and when it's worth paying. Getting ready for 11.11? Pair this list with our one-week 11.11 sale plan.

7 free AI tools for small online stores: writing, graphics, product photos, website chat, email list, automations and voiceovers

Free plans change often, so we give the date each limit was checked. We haven't run every tool with a live store, so confirm the limits on each pricing page before you rely on them.

What the free plans include: AI assistant, Canva, Photoroom, Tidio, Systeme.io, Make and ElevenLabs, with each free plan's limits and sources

1. An AI assistant for writing

ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini all have free tiers, and any of them can draft product descriptions, customer replies and sale emails. Free tiers come with usage limits that change over time; for a few listings and replies a day, they're usually enough. Not sure which one to pick? See our Claude vs ChatGPT vs Gemini comparison.

Tip: paste your real product facts and ask it not to add features. Pay when you use it every day and keep hitting the limits.

2. Canva for sale graphics

Canva's templates cover banners, social posts and email headers, which is most of what a sale week needs. The free plan includes a limited number of AI uses, and unlimited background removal is part of the paid plan, according to CostBench (August 29, 2026).

Pay when you need your brand kit, unlimited background removal or the same design in many sizes.

3. Photoroom for product photos

Photoroom turns a phone photo into a clean product shot with a plain background. Its free plan includes basic background removal with standard-resolution exports; high-resolution exports are paid, and free exports may carry Photoroom branding (CostBench, July 7, 2026). Try it on a few of your own photos first.

Pay when a marketplace needs high-resolution images or you edit dozens of photos a week.

4. Tidio for website chat

Sales bring the same questions over and over: shipping, returns, sizes. Tidio's free plan covers 50 conversations a month, and its Lyro AI agent is a paid add-on (Rework, August 26, 2026, citing Tidio's pricing). You can start with Tidio's free plan and see what customers ask. Our website chatbot comparison looks at the alternatives.

Pay when you get more chats than the free cap or want AI to answer after hours.

5. Systeme.io for your email list

An email list is the one channel you own. Systeme.io combines email, simple sales pages and funnels, and its free plan allowed up to 2,000 contacts when we checked its pricing page on October 17, 2026. That's enough for sale emails and a welcome email sequence for new customers.

Pay when you outgrow the free contact limit or need more automations.

6. Make for automations

Make connects your tools so routine steps happen on their own, like logging new orders in a spreadsheet and sending you an alert. The free plan includes 1,000 credits a month and 2 active scenarios, as listed by Jet Admin (September 26, 2026); confirm at make.com/pricing. You can create a free Make account, and our first Make automation guide walks through a simple flow.

Pay when you need more than 2 workflows running or the credits run out before the month does.

7. ElevenLabs for voiceovers

A short narrated product demo can do more than a page of text. ElevenLabs' free plan includes 10,000 credits a month (NoCode MBA, October 20, 2026), which is enough to try voices. To publish business videos you need a paid plan, which includes the commercial license; Starter was $6 a month on October 22, 2026. Try ElevenLabs with our guide to AI voiceovers for business videos.

Pay when you're ready to publish videos for your store.

How to start without drowning in tools

  • Start with the job that costs you the most time this week, not the tool with the most hype.

  • Add one tool at a time and use it for a full week before adding the next.

  • Keep a short note of each free limit, so sale day doesn't surprise you.

  • Upgrade only when a limit actually blocks you.

The bottom line

Worth it if you run a small store and want help with copy, images, customer questions and follow-ups without another monthly bill: these seven free plans cover the basics of a sale week. Skip the upgrades until a limit actually gets in your way. Want ready-to-use prompts for those tools? Get our free guide, 25 AI Prompts for Small Business.
